Blast Camp — Robotics Summer Camp

A 5-day immersive robotics summer camp for students in grades 4-9, using VEX IQ kits and 3D printing, hosted in Berwyn, PA.

Blast Camp is our answer to a question we heard constantly in our first year: “My kid loves robots, but they’re too young for FRC — is there anything for them?”

What Blast Camp covers

Blast Camp is a 5-day, Monday–Friday immersive robotics experience for students in grades 4-9, run out of our workshop at 15 Waterloo Avenue in Berwyn, PA. Each day runs 9:00 AM–4:00 PM and blends:

  • Hands-on builds with VEX IQ robot kits
  • Introductory 3D printing — designing and printing simple parts
  • Team-based build challenges that mirror (at a smaller scale) what our FRC students do
  • Direct mentorship from current Team 10989 members

Why it matters

Our inaugural camp in August 2025 served 20 students and generated over 300 volunteer service hours from mentors and older students — turning a single week into a pipeline of future FRC, FTC, and FLL participants.

2026 sessions

A June 2026 session is open for registration, with an August 2026 session planned. Pricing follows a tiered structure — early registration, base admission, and late registration — to keep the camp accessible while covering camp costs.
